The New Technologies of Information in the Spanish Citrus Co-operatives

Agricultural associations of a socio-economic nature have been and continue to be a basic structural feature of the agribusiness sector and rural development in Spain, both in the social and economic and land use spheres. Taking into account the current significance of these entities and the future prospects, in this paper we analyse the Internet presence of the Spanish citrus co-operatives. Therefore, in order to achieve our purposes we have carried out an extensive inquiry, targeting the citrus co-operatives of the Valencia Region, the main citrus producer territory in Spain. A first result is that citrus companies have a lower Internet presence than others companies in industrial sector.
